Sharol Thomsen
Oboe
Oboe/English hornist Sharol Brailey Thomsen has been a member of The Reno Wind Symphony since 2015. She began her musical training at age 10. She earned her bachelor’s degree in music from the University of Nebraska and continued her studies to obtain her bachelors in hospitality management from Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee and her masters of business administration from the University of Phoenix.
Sharol also holds a Mouseter’s Degree in business and her Ducktorate Degree in Studio Production from Disney University, earned while completing her internship through the College Program at Walt Disney World. Prior to moving to Reno, she was a 7- year member and section leader of the UNLV Community Concert Band. She also performs with the Reno Municipal Band and the National Community Band – a project of the John Philip Sousa Foundation.
