Scott Thunder

Trombonist Scott Thunder has been a member of the Reno Wind Symphony since 2015. Mr. Thunder is a certified public accountant and partner in the firm Thunder Vick & Company. Prior to embarking on his career in accounting, Mr. Thunder earned a Bachelor of Music Performance degree from the University of Nevada. While completing his bachelor’s degree, he was the 2nd chair trombonist with the Reno Philharmonic. Mr. Thunder then went on to complete two years of work towards a Masters Degree in Jazz Studies at the University of North Texas before returning to Reno to study accounting.

​Mr. Thunder has performed with many groups and live shows/performers including the Reno Philharmonic, the Nevada Ballet, the Nevada Opera Orchestra, the Dallas Jazz Orchestra, American Superstars, Sammy Davis Jr., Bill Cosby, George Burns, Toni Tenille, The Four Tops and Natalie Cole.
