Variations Around the World
Time & Location
About The Event
In our first concert of the Spring season, the Reno Wind Symphony will present Variations Around the World. All selections are designed to begin with a simple harmonized melody, which is then repeated several times, exploring the technicalities of the ensemble in different moods and tempos.
American wind band composer James Barnes wrote Fantasy Variations on a Theme by Niccolo Paganini for the President’s Own, United States Marine Band. This exciting work shows the prowess in every section of the Reno Wind Symphony, as well as several soloists in the ensemble.
There is a general admission charge of $10.00, and $5.00 for seniors (65 and older). All students (college, high school, middle school, etc) will be admitted FREE with their school ID card. Free parking is available in the Brian J. Whalen parking structure north of the fine arts building. Nightingale Concert Hall is located in the Church Fine Arts building on the campus of the University of Nevada.
